In 1921, then Northern Government established Beijing Streetcar Company. On Dec.18,1924, the first streetcar route was put into formal operation with 9 km long and 10 vehicles.　more

By the end of 2007, the total number of BPTC vehicles reached 25368, including 18567 buses and trolleybuses, 965 tourist buses, 5524 taxicabs and 312 long-distance coaches. more
